Beier’s so-called ‘confused objects’ often partner a critique of commodity aesthetics with representations of abundance. Automobile is a choreography of remote control cars out of which are spilling what appears to be human hair. As the miniature vehicles erratically explore the space, crashing into each other and walls, the viewer becomes increasingly aware of the tension between the intelligent design and erratic control.
